The Association of Master Trainers was founded on a simple premise: The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a facilitated process and the results, impact and success are directly tied to the quality of the facilitation.

To be effective, we believe the method should be taught with the same care, curiosity, and craftsmanship that shaped its original development. The development of the method into a reproducible and robust methodology was spearheaded by Robert Rasmussen from 1999 – 2002 with Per joining the efforts in 2001.

In 2010, the LEGO® Group released the basic method under a Creative Commons License, sparking global interest. Facilitators, designers, and organizations around the world wanted to learn how to use it — but with this surge came a challenge: how to ensure that the method remained true to its roots, its rigor, and its spirit.

This is why the Association exists.
